Engaging agri-business
Read more about work being led by the Capitals Coalition to develop new guidance for agri-business, develop capacity-building and build a growing network of forward-thinking organizations in partner countries.
Country-level activities
- Capitals Coalition in collaboration with the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) led a round table and four training sessions throughout 2020 which had 125 participants. As an outcome of the training sessions, several businesses progressed on their pilot applications. These applications show how the value provided by nature and people can be included in business decision-making and have been included on the TEEBAgriFood for Business pilot application webpage.
- The collaboration with CEBDS has supported the foundation of the establishment of the Brazil Capitals Coalition Hub. This hub enables the uptake of a capitals approach continuously and builds on the network created through the TEEBAgriFood for Business Project.
- The Capitals Coalition provided support calls to the businesses from the training sessions to conduct case study applications based on the TEEBAgriFood Operational Guidelines for Business. Objectives of the case studies vary from the measurement and comparison of organic production versus conventional production, to engaging producers to restore degraded land.
