Marcio worked in the TEEB office in Geneva between 2017 and 2018 and re-joined in January 2019. He is currently based at the UN Environment Office in Brazil. As a technical consultant he supports project stakeholders towards mainstreaming the consideration for ecosystems and biodiversity in decision making and public policy.
Before his specialization in environmental economics, Marcio worked for international non-governmental organizations such as Amnesty International and Greenpeace and have experience with multilateral negotiation processes, campaign engagement, and partnership building at various levels. Marcio holds a master’s in environmental economics from the University of Bologna, a degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Western Australia.
